What a wonderful time of year it is — the days are sitting around that perfect 22–25°C, warm enough to feel light and energised, yet the evenings still hold that gentle coolness that makes a warm meal feel comforting.

This in-between season is a special time — it’s when your body starts subtly shifting how it wants to be nourished. And tuning in to that shift makes a big difference to how you feel.

Nourish Your Body with Where It’s At — Seasonally

Just as nature transitions, so do we. Your body’s needs change with temperature, light, and even humidity — so it’s important to eat with the season, not against it.

You don’t want to start your morning with a freezing cold smoothie when the air still feels crisp. Likewise, when the sun is out and the day is warm, you might crave lighter meals — yet interestingly, a warm dish can actually help cool you down.

Why Warm Meals Work — Even in Warm Weather

This might sound counterintuitive, but look to equatorial countries like Thailand, India, and Vietnam — places where temperatures soar year-round — and you’ll notice something fascinating: they eat warming foods.

Curries, stir-fries, broths, and spiced teas are staples in these climates for good reason.

Warm meals and spices like ginger, chilli, turmeric, and cumin gently stimulate circulation and sweating, the body’s natural cooling mechanism.
Instead of shocking the system with cold foods, these meals encourage your body to find its own equilibrium — maintaining a steady internal temperature while aiding digestion and enhancing metabolic function.

So while it might feel logical to reach for something cold on a hot day, your gut and metabolism often prefer a meal that’s warm, balanced, and easy to digest.
