This Week’s Focus… Smart Shopping

I hear it all the time… “Groceries are SO expensive!”

And yes — I get it. Prices have gone up. But here’s the truth… with a little awareness and creativity, you can eat well and save money.

Herb and Spice shopping — you have options!

You can go to a supermarket and for 10g of Thyme pay $3.50 (that works out at $350/kg!)

Or you can go to a local bulk store — and pay 19 cents for 10g (only $19.50/kg)

And it doesn’t stop there. Fruits, veggies, legumes — supermarket prices can make them look expensive, but head to a fresh produce market or bulk store, and you’ll pay around a third of the cost.

It takes time to find the ‘best places’ to shop, but once you do it’s life changing!!

It took us a while to locate exactly what we needed… but now we have the simplest shopping route…

3️⃣Farmer Jacks (frozen fruit, organic grains, organic dairy)
4️⃣MCQ/Golden Choice (fresh fruit, veggies, herbs)

Here’s the thing… Real food isn’t expensive — it’s just undervalued.

I’ve stared at a $6 cauliflower thinking, “Oof… that’s a bit much” …then turned around and paid $5 for a coffee without blinking and🍴$50 for brunch and 👱‍♀️$120+ for a haircut!!

We say… “food costs too much”… but maybe it’s more about what we value.

Many of us spend freely on clothes, makeup, travel, or skincare — yet we cut corners on the very thing that fuels every cell in our body.

When you start seeing food as medicine — and your weekly shop as an investment in your vitality, energy, and longevity — the story changes.

✨Shop smart… move out of your area (comfort zone) and go on a shopping tour!!
✨Prioritise what matters.
✨Choose food that gives back to your body and your microbiome.
